We are looking for an experienced Big Data Engineer to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will contribute to the development of advanced data tools and systems, ensuring optimal performance and scalability. Responsibilities:
Develop and implement advanced big data tools tailored to client needs, ensuring high performance and reliability.
Design and optimize data pipelines using tools such as Data Build Tool (DBT), Google BigQuery, and other analytics platforms.
Apply advanced techniques in partitioning, indexing, and data sequencing to enhance system efficiency.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, resolving issues promptly to maintain seamless operations.
Provide onsite support for critical updates when necessary, particularly for Southern California-based clients.
Conduct rigorous testing and validation of data models to ensure accuracy and functionality.
Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new technologies to improve system capabilities.
Document workflows, processes, and technical specifications for future reference and team collaboration.

Requirements

Extensive experience with big data tools, including Amazon EC2, Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, and Google BigQuery.
Proficiency in using Data Build Tool (DBT) for data modeling and transformation.
Strong knowledge of advanced data management techniques such as indexing, partitioning, and sequencing.
Hands-on experience with analytics tools and frameworks like Apache Kafka, Cassandra, and Pig.
Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies and AB testing in data-driven environments.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex systems.
Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively in both remote and onsite settings.
Availability for occasional onsite support in Southern California, if required.
