Responsabilidades y atribuciones

Project Management plans, controls and executes a project or set of related projects to meet identified business needs and deliver business value, through acquiring and utilizing the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality. This position will lead small-to-medium projects of moderate complexity and risk and has the following accountabilities:

  • Plan, execute, monitor, control, and close all aspects of the project lifecycle.
  • Rigorously manage scope through a structured change management process to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters with focus on delivering the business benefits.
  • Create and validate financial forecasts and provide ongoing reconciliation of resources and expenditures.
  • Ensure appropriate stakeholder change and communication plans and engagements are developed and executed.
  • Proactively analyze variances against plan to assess trends threatening agreed scope, time, cost, and quality commitments. Identify signs that a project may be at risk and escalate quickly and appropriately.
  • Apply Shell project management and IT control/assurance methodologies, standards and processes including architecture, information risk management, and transition to support.


The IT Project Manager is responsible for:

  • Deployment Management: Focuses on how to move new or changed hardware, software, documentation, processes or any other components to live environments.
  • Configuration Management: Ensures that accurate and reliable information about the configuration of services is available when and where needed.
  • Incident Management: Involved in minimizing the negative impact of incidents by restoring normal service operation as quickly as possible.
  • Problem Management: To reduce the likelihood and impact of incidents by identifying actual and potential causes of incidents and manage workarounds and known errors.
  • Continual Improvement: How to adapt to the evolving business landscape by continuously improving products, services, and practices.


Requisitos y calificaciones

Special Challenges:

  • Quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders. Resolve conflict and deliver tough messages with grace. Continually update relevant business stakeholders of project status.
  • Execute and drive decisions despite limited information.
  • Motivate a team while removing barriers so that the team can complete its objectives while managing pressure.
  • Work virtually in a diverse global organization and with major outsourced suppliers of infrastructure and application services.
  • Tailor stakeholder communications material and level of detail to the audience.


Skills & Requirements:

  • A 4-year degree in IT or a related field.
  • Professional certifications related to project or programme management are desirable.
  • Familiar with and able to adhere to project management methodologies and tools.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge in service now tools
