Coordinates and plans the details of both special and recurring fitness and sports activities ensuring maximum use of facilities, services and other resources. Schedules and publicizes various fitness and sports activities in the interest of the most effective attraction and motivation of participants. Assists with coordination of marketing for publicity of programs and prepares facilities for scheduled events, to include staff and supporting equipment. Conducts sports and fitness facility tours for JB MDL VIPs. Assists the Director of the Lakehurst Fitness Center and participates in planning at JB MDL to include as a minimum, group exercise classes, incentive programs and special events for customers and fitness and sports improvement programs. Assists in establishing programs and implements activities to promote healthy living/fitness and sports recreation for installation active-duty military, personnel, civilians, retirees and veterans. Coordinates with higher level JB MDL management to meet fitness and sports goals and objectives within deadlines. May supervise, lead, oversee and/or coordinate the daily activities of other employees engaged in the performance of their duties.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Bachelor's degree desired in fitness, sports or recreation-related field. Must be able to teach and communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing, to promote and report on the program, and to resolve problems and answer questions relating to the program. Must of knowledge of of a range of principles, concepts and techniques of physical fitness and sports programs as related to exercise and physical fitness, and knowledge of the physical and psychological factors in individual and team sports. May require the operation of a personal or government vehicle. A valid driver's license is required. Subject to work uncommon tour of duty to meet program requirements including nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
