
RECREATION ATTENDANT NF-1
MCCS is looking to fill this position to primarily fill various morning shifts Monday through Friday with a start time of 4:30 AM. (schedule is subject to change based on business needs)
Incumbent is assigned to one or more specialized recreational activities within the Semper Fit Division. Each employee will be assigned to their primary work location but may be required to work in other Semper Fit program based on operational needs. Ancillary Semper Fit programs include The Barn, Semper Fit Center, HITT Center, Miramar Sports Complex, F45 Program, 50M Pool, Golf Course, PARC, Bob Hope Theater, ITT, and Auto Skills. Cross training will be provided accordingly. Hours of operation for each facility vary and work at each location will include nights, weekends, and holidays. Shift differential pay will be appropriately applied.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Welcomes and greets guests to the facility. Provides information regarding activities within the department and information on the use of equipment. Will be required to enter data into RecTrac, register patrons for classes, collect fees, maintain attendance records, and keep track of resale inventory. Will record customer transactions/sales with accuracy and within established guidelines.
Assists in cleaning the facility which includes re-racking weights, cleaning equipment, light janitorial work, and maintaining exercise equipment in proper working order. Ensures adherence to safety rules and regulations. Assists in planning, scheduling, and publicizing various activities to attract and motivate participants.
Provides exceptional customer service, and upholds high service standards using respect, courtesy, professionalism, and teamwork. Takes initiative to solve problems quickly but recognizes when to seek assistance to resolve issues. Collaborates in a professional, supportive, and proactive manner.
Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.

Six months of experience in a similar recreational activity is desired but not required. Within 6 months from hire must obtain a First Aid/CPR/AED certification. This position requires strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Must possess basic math, grammar, and spelling skills to complete transactions. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
