We re seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer for an immediate contract opportunity. This role will start with a 3-month internal project focused on SDR (Software-Defined Radio) solutions, specifically optimizing and finalizing the full-range PCIe functionality. Afterward, the engineer will transition into supporting a variety of radio-focused projects on a long-term basis.

This is a hands-on engineering role working closely with internal teams to troubleshoot, enhance, and build embedded systems centered around advanced FPGA-based SDR technologies.

Must-Have Skills

  • Senior-level Embedded Firmware expertise
  • Experience with FPGA HDL (Xilinx preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of PCIe implementation on Xilinx FPGAs
  • Ethernet protocol and implementation experience
  • Embedded Linux and bare-metal development

Initial Project Focus

  • Work on SDR platform
  • Finalize and optimize full-range PCIe implementation
  • Troubleshoot existing setup; basic software is already functional
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure reliable integration and performance

Long-Term Scope

  • Support upcoming radio-focused projects
  • Contribute to embedded development across various programs
  • Work with evolving technologies in high-performance, low-latency communication systems

Preferred

  • Background in software-defined radio (SDR) solutions
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

About the Role

This position is fully remote but ideal candidates will reside in EST or CST time zones for better collaboration with team members. You ll be joining a highly technical and innovative team delivering advanced embedded solutions in the communications space.
