We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Data Scientist to join our Big Data and Advanced Analytics team. You will work closely with the Data Engineering team and cross-functional business units to address real-world challenges using advanced data science and machine learning techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Lead data science projects across various business functions
- Identify and translate business problems into data science solutions
- Cleanse, transform, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources
- Create and maintain predictive models using machine learning techniques
- Build insightful visualizations and dashboards for stakeholders
- Collaborate with engineering teams to productionize models
- Communicate complex findings in a simple and actionable way
- Participate in strategic discussions related to data and analytics
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience solving data science problems in real-world environments
- Strong background in applied statistics, machine learning, and Python (pandas, scikit-learn)
- 3+ years working on NLP and text analytics
- Proficiency in SQL and Python-based visualizations (e.g., Plotly, Matplotlib)
- Experience with Spotfire or Power BI for data visualization
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (Big Query) is a plus
- Domain experience in media/publishing or recommender systems is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present findings clearly
- Willingness to travel occasionally to Austin, TX
