  • Works under the supervision of the Community Services Flight Chief to implement higher level directives.
  • Responsible for managing daily coffee shop operations to include staffing, funds control, ordering subsistence and specialty beverages, and inventory management.
  • Responsible for processing all paperwork related to inventory, purchasing, scheduling, payroll, personnel actions, disciplinary actions, performance appraisals, and performance awards.
  • Provides supervision, training, guidance, and instructions to all coffee shop employees.
  • Ensures employees are trained to prepare all specialty drinks.
  • Trains staff to prepare take-out coffee packages for special events.
  • Implements food handling and customer service training and ensures employees meet all Air Force training and safety standards.
  • Must enforce safe food handling practices and sanitation principles.
  • Required to serve as a barista, as well as prepare and deliver catered items as scheduled.
  • Assures patron satisfaction by resolving complaints and other customer issues.
  • Manages Non appropriated Fund (NAF) budget to actual expenses and provides budget projections to leadership for quarterly financials.
  • Plans budget for food and beverage items.
  • Approves or disapproves sick leave, annual leave, or other absences from work.
  • Responsible for accuracy of Services Employee Timekeeping System (SETS) for staff.
  • Reviews and endorses daily cash and inventory paperwork before it is turned into the NAF accounting office.
  • Maintains equipment listing and schedules equipment preventative maintenance.
  • Ensures facility is maintained in a clean and neat manner and is secured when not in operation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifying Experience:

  • Requires experience in cash handling procedures and sales operations such as receipt, disbursement, deposit and use of cash accountability control methods.
  • Must obtain a food handlers certificate. Must possess skills in dealing with the public and handling customer issues.
  • Requires skillful verbal and written communication and documentation capability.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English is required.
  • Must have computer experience working with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to bend, twist, stand for long periods of time and lift upwards of 40 lbs., as well as move tables and other equipment as needed. A pre-employment physical is required. Subject to an uncommon tour of duty. Local files check and Tier 1 security check is required.
