Position Title: Automation Test Engineer
Location: Ashburn, VA
Position Description:
Indev is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to join our elite team who will be responsible for evaluating software, hardware, or systems to ensure they meet quality and performance standards before deployment. As a Test Engineer, you will play a pivotal role with the modernization of a portfolio of applications. Your experience and expertise will be crucial with validating the functions and features of a secure system, all while embracing the Agile mindset to foster innovation and rapid adaptation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and conduct test and evaluation protocols to ensure system requirements are met.
- Create, maintain, and upgrade automated test scripts and architectures for application products.
- Evaluate test cases and provide regular progress reports.
- Provide testing know-how for the support of user requirements of complex software/hardware applications.
- Participate in all phases of risk management assessments and software/hardware development with emphasis on analysis of user requirements.
- Responsible for conducting regression, smoke, and integration testing for IT applications.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to identify, isolate, and resolve software defects.
- Responsible for delivering great software and releasing it quickly, efficiently and with increased quality.
- Automation Development Writes test scripts using tools like Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, or TestNG to automate repetitive tests.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support Assists business users in validating system functionality against business needs.
- Documentation & Reporting Provides detailed test reports, metrics, and quality assessments to stakeholders.
- Test Execution Conducts automated tests to validate system behavior.
- Bug Identification & Reporting Identifies defects, logs them in tracking tools (like JIRA, Azure DevOps), and collaborates with developers to resolve them.
- Participate in sprint planning and backlog grooming.
- Ensure high test coverage in automated pipelines.
Qualifications:
- CBP Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- 5+ years of functional experience in automated testing
- A solid understanding of Agile and QA methodologies is essential.
- Experience with Test Driven Development is preferred.
- Ability to work independently on multiple projects.
- Bachelor s degree and over 5 years of experience are preferred).
- Experienced with test automation using UFT and UiPath and be able to automate the tests using future automation tools.
- Skilled with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cypress)
- Prior experience using defect tracking tools like (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
- Previous work completed in an Agile/Scrum setting
- Superb problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions.
- Exceptional communication skills to work seamlessly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
