As a Police Officer, GS-0083-06, you will perform and enforce the full range of security forces duties within the military installation. Serves as a Security Forces Dispatcher for the installation. Perform the full range of Base Entry Controller and commercial vehicle inspection duties. Perform the full range of duties for defending protection level resources (Patrol, Security Response Team (I-SRT & E-SRT). Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
  • Never convicted by a civilian court of a Category One, Two, or Three offense, nor exceeded the accepted number of Category Four offenses.
  • Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.

Military Grades: E-1 through E-6

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, training or knowledge of the full range of security forces, and police and law enforcement services which requires considerable training, experience, and proficiency to perform the full range of operations in preventing or resolving offenses.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 9 months experience in areas to lead, manage, and perform security force activities in direct support of the United States Nuclear Enterprise; weapon systems and physical security; law and order; military working dog; combat arms; and area security operation; experience in directs the control and operations of firing ranges; and inspects, repairs, and maintains ground weapons; experience in enforcing laws, maintains law and order, preserves the peace, and protects life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of military installations.

Medical Requirements:
1. To qualify for this series, a current physical and a cleared drug test are mandatory.
2. Normal color vision and normal depth perception are required, as defined by current Air Force Medical Examinations and Standards Instructions
3. Distance visual acuity correctable to 20/20 in one eye and 20/30 in the other.
4. No speech disorder or noticeable communication deficiency as defined in AFI 48-123.
5. No diagnosed fear of acrophobia (fear of heights) or confined spaces.
6. To qualify for this series, must confirm there is no history of emotional instability, personality disorder, or other unresolved mental health problems.
7. No record of sleep disorders to include, but not limited to, sleep apneas, insomnias, hyper-somnias, narcolepsy, or restless leg syndrome.
8. No current diagnosis of Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or Perceptual/Learning Disorder(s); and, prescribed medication(s) to treat these disorders in the last 12 months.
9. No history of mood disorders including bipolar disorder, major depression, dysthymia, or depression not otherwise specified.
10. No recorded evidence of personality disorder, sustained or untreatable emotional instability to include depression, or suicidal behavior to include attempts, gestures, ideations, threats, or history of self-mutilation.
11. Individuals who had their spleens removed are not eligible for assignment to the military working dog program or any canine functions.
