Server Administrator
Knowledge and experience in working with DIR and Atos.
The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, Exchange Server, and Office 365 administration. Understanding security best practices and implementing security measures like multi-factor authentication (MFA) and encryption, Microsoft Teams calling.
Job Summary: The Level 2 Server Administrator will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing our software, hardware, and networks. The contractor will diagnose and resolve problems quickly to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT, computer systems engineering, or systems administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and configure server hardware and software.
Manage Windows and Linux servers and technology tools.
Monitor system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely.
Troubleshoot issues reported by users or identified through monitoring tools.
Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
Maintain security through access controls, backups, firewalls, etc.
Upgrade systems with new releases and models as necessary.
Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and policies.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role (minimum of 4 years).
Experience with Microsoft Teams calling
Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows/Linux) platforms.
Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
The ideal candidate should possess proficiency in server management tools, along with a strong understanding of server OS. Analytical skills are crucial, including the ability to analyze system logs for troubleshooting purposes and the capacity to identify potential issues before they become critical problems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly. Strong organizational skills are necessary for managing multiple projects simultaneously, and effective problem-solving abilities under pressure are vital.
