Electrical Design Engineer
Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Waukesha, WI (Onsite)
Pay Range: $40/hr - $50/hr
Overview:
Join a global engineering team utilizing advanced design tools and techniques to develop cutting-edge CT systems that lead the way in medical diagnostic imaging. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll tackle technical challenges by designing from scratch or reengineering existing designs. This role plays a key part in driving both multi-generational product plans and product-specific development.
You'll engage in a variety of tasks ranging from analog or power circuit design to simulation work (e.g., MATLAB), and you'll be part of a collaborative, high-energy team focused on engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design electrical and/or power electronics circuitry for premium CT hardware, including new product introductions (NPI) and existing product maintenance.
- Ensure operational excellence in assigned designs and projects through:
- Design reviews
- Feasibility and cost-benefit analyses
- Prioritization, resource planning, execution, and closure
- Develop prototypes and conduct performance testing.
- Capture electrical design schematics using ECAD systems.
- Review and approve ECAD layout designs.
- Deliver innovative designs that meet performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of industry experience in electrical engineering.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in circuit design.
- Proficiency in standard schematic practices, electronics modeling, and engineering analysis techniques.
- Solid knowledge of integrated circuit design, control systems, programming, simulation, and testing.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong understanding of both analog and digital circuit/circuit board design.
- Familiarity with digital electronics, switches, and "flux capacitors" (interpreted as a lighthearted nod to classic science fiction).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to document, plan, present, and execute engineering projects and programs.
- Skilled at multitasking across projects within both the electrical team and the broader hardware engineering group.
