Dynamics 365 Business Analyst F&O Module
Our client is a non-profit in Tysons Corner. This is a non-profit that is trying to help people with disabilities - so the people who work here are truly trying to do the right thing. Their mission is to increase the employment of people with disabilities by building strong partnerships with the federal government and engaging a national network of nonprofit agencies and experts. It's a great place to work, and feel good about what you're doing. We have been asked to help them identify a great Dynamics 365 Business/Functional Analyst who knows the F&O module.
The Business/Functional Analyst is responsible for process analysis, process improvement, change management and data management within Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O). This position is responsible for the elicitation, creation and refinement of business and systems requirements while supporting development and implementation of technical solutions; participating in Change Management activities; the development/documentation of acceptance test cases; training accounting personnel with D365 and a variety of operational tasks as required. This individual will have responsibilities in leading tasks within the full life-cycle of projects encompassing requirements gathering, solution definition, design, process refinement, development and testing. Individual must be well versed in functional aspects of various Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations modules with insight into technical aspects and will also be responsible for providing production support with significant business user interaction, collaborating with his/her IT colleagues and business subject matter experts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Utilize domain knowledge to work with end users, project team, and production support.
- Participate in projects from requirements to delivery partnering with different user groups to transform/integrate the new solution with existing system/processes, focusing on ways to increase adoption, proficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Elicit and document business requirements for application delivery projects using the appropriate method (JAD sessions, Use Case Model, Use Cases, User Stories, screen mockups, etc.). Ensure requirements deliverables meet standards. Ensure requirements satisfy stated business objectives.
- Conduct gap analysis between existing applications and new requirements.
- Support the design, development, delivery and management of initiative communications.
- Assess design implications of new requirements and be able to communicate this information to all affected groups for them to determine how the design implications impact their functional area.
- Provide ongoing interpretation and clarification of requirements to the IT development team. Provide liaison between business users and developers to ensure ongoing alignment and issue resolution. Coordinate regular status updates to business owners throughout projects. Ensure that business owners are resolving issues as needed.
- Effectively prioritize and distribute tasks in a high-pressure deadline driven environment to meet goals.
- Develop UAT strategy for each major F&O application effort; subsequently develop test conditions with heavy participation of business owner and deliver content as needed.
- Communicate effectively with internal business customers, co-workers, manager, and development team (on-shore and off-shore).
- Strong analytical, systems thinking, problem solving/debugging skills.
- Needs to be proactive, customer-oriented and be able to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic and cross functional environment.
- Maintain industry best practices to stay abreast with changing technology.
- Use domain knowledge to identify potential issues, recommend improvements, etc.
- Perform additional duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Required:
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O (5+ years)
- Excellent Working knowledge of accounting (preferably an Accountant who has implemented Dynamics 365 in the past)
- Comfortable working directly with end-users and developers
- Good team player as well as individually-driven
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Problem solving with root cause analysis experience.
This will be a long term contract opportunity. There is a high likelihood that this is a multiyear opportunity with the possibility of conversion to being a full time employee of our client. During the contract period, the hourly rate will be $85-$100/hr (as a 1099 or C-2-C) based on level of experience. We would also be willing to make you a W2 if you would prefer a different compensation model.
Location: At this time we are opening this position up to anyone in the continental USA who is willing to occasionally visit our clients' offices in Vienna Virginia or Chicago IL. Please only apply if you are willing and able to easily come in occasionally (like once a quarter).
