  1. Make sure the webpage is open.
  2. In the Safari app on your Mac, choose Safari > Preferences, then click Security.
  3. Make sure the Enable JavaScript checkbox is selected.
  4. Click Websites.
  5. On the left, click Content Blockers.
  6. Make sure Off is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.
  7. On the left, click Pop-up Windows.
  8. Make sure Allow is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.

We are seeking a Lead Backend Engineer for a hybrid contract opportunity in Charlotte, NC. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a seasoned engineer with a strong background in backend development using Node.js, TypeScript, AWS, and related technologies. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate remote work is not an option.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend applications and APIs.

  • Work collaboratively with front-end and DevOps teams to build seamless, reliable web and mobile experiences.

  • Develop and maintain services using Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.

  • Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and performant, following best practices.

  • Integrate APIs with front-end or mobile-specific frameworks.

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers.

  • Manage multiple tasks while consistently meeting deadlines.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend development using Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.

  • 5+ years building internet-facing applications.

  • 5+ years working with AWS and/or OpenShift.

  • Proficient in core software engineering concepts including OOP, quality engineering, parallel programming, and databases.

  • Experience integrating APIs with front-end/mobile-specific frameworks.

  • Strong collaboration, time management, and communication skills.
