Job Title: Shopify Solution Architect

Location: Houston, TX / Remote

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Shopify Architect to lead the technical architecture, design, and execution for Hi-Tech business, an innovative eCommerce platform for gaming accessories. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing Shopify operations, leading platform customizations, and ensuring seamless operations for multiple Shopify-based stores across regions. This role demands a strategic thinker who can drive business value by aligning technical solutions with business needs while managing full lifecycle eCommerce projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Technical Architecture: Act as the primary technical lead for all Shopify operations and innovation projects.
• Platform Migration: Drive the migration from Shopify 1.0 to Shopify 2.0 and consolidate platform operations for multiple regional stores.
• Collaborate with Business Teams: Work closely with Product Manager and other business stakeholders to define technical solutions that align with business requirements. Act as a "two-in-a-box" partner to drive the best business outcomes.
• Custom Development: Lead the development and enhancement of custom Shopify themes, applications, and integrations, including third-party systems like ERP, CRM, and other SaaS solutions.
• Performance Optimization: Ensure website performance tuning (SEO, page speed), monitoring, and optimization to meet business demands.
• Team Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to on-site and offshore development teams, ensuring that best practices in eCommerce architecture, security, and deployment are followed.
• Business Continuity: Implement proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and support to ensure continuous platform operations.
• Drive Innovation: Act as the subject matter expert on Shopify architecture and eCommerce frameworks, guiding internal teams and proposing new innovations for the platform.
• Best Practices: Champion best practices in enterprise eCommerce frameworks including monitoring, alerting, configuration management, and DevOps.

Qualifications:

• 12+ years of experience in implementing, migrating, and maintaining eCommerce platforms, with 5+ years of specific experience in Shopify development and architecture (including Shopify Plus).
• Proven expertise in Shopify architecture, including customizations, apps, theme development, and API integration.
• Strong proficiency in Shopify 1.0 and 2.0 platforms, having led successful large-scale implementations and migrations.
• Experience integrating Shopify with third-party systems (ERP, CRM, SaaS).
• Ability to design scalable and robust eCommerce architectures and manage complex technical implementations.
• Strong understanding of SEO, analytics, and conversion rate optimization for Shopify stores.
• Experience with agile methodologies and cross-functional team management.
• Proven ability to handle full lifecycle eCommerce projects, from concept to implementation, with a focus on delivering business value.
• Leadership abilities to mentor and guide development teams through complex implementations.
• Excellent communication skills to act as the point of contact between on-site teams, business stakeholders, and offshore developers.

Preferred Skills:

• Hands-on experience with Shopify monitoring and alerting tools.
• Familiarity with social selling platforms, fast-paced eCommerce environments, and advanced eCommerce functions like payment gateways, shipping methods, and inventory systems.
