We are looking for a Server Administrator. The position details are as follows.
Position: Server Administrator
Location: Austin, TX - Hybrid (One Days on-site/Week)
Duration: 12 Months with possible extension
Responsibilities:
The Role:
The ideal candidate should possess proficiency in server management tools, along with a strong understanding of server OS. Analytical skills are crucial, including the ability to analyze system logs for troubleshooting purposes and the capacity to identify potential issues before they become critical problems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly. Strong organizational skills are necessary for managing multiple projects simultaneously, and effective problem-solving abilities under pressure are vital. The candidate must also be able to work collaboratively with other IT staff and departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and configure server hardware and software.
- Manage Windows and Linux servers and technology tools.
- Monitor system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely.
- Troubleshoot issues reported by users or identified through monitoring tools.
- Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
- Maintain security through access controls, backups, firewalls, etc.
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models as necessary.
- Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
- Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and policies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role (minimum of 4 years).
- Experience with Microsoft Teams calling
- Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows/Linux) platforms.
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
Minimum Requirements:
- Networks physical and logical structures
- standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a server administration
- Experience with Linux OS
- Experience with Windows OS
- Experience with Microsoft Teams Calling
- Analyze performance metrics and optimize server performance
