
Recreation Assistant Lead NF2 Regular Full-Time
- Based on established policies, incumbent carries out assigned tasks in the Athletic Section applying an understanding of the interest and needs of program participants. Assist supervisor with programs and activities sponsored by the Semper Fit Athletic Section such as intramurals, All-Marine and special events to include accomplishing team schedules, disseminating publicity and information, preparing facilities, supervising games/matches, etc.
- Relays instructions from supervisor. Demonstrates work methods and provides work-related guidance. Ensures worksite materials and tools are available to complete work. Reports workplace injuries immediately to the immediate or higher-level supervisor, and to the Human Resources office in the absence of the immediate supervisor. Checks with supervisor on problems. Ensures only authorized personnel are participating in programs by checking ID cards and verifying that all participants meet the eligibility criteria.
- Operates front desk cash handling and is responsible for changing fund, turn-ins and cash receipts. Opens and closes the Daily Activity Report (DAR). Maintains and enforces security of funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse. Complies with al1 Rec Trac and CYMS processes. Responsible for ensuring that all front desk staff are executing proper procedures in the collecting of money for group exercise classes, personal training sessions, massage therapy, dietician sessions and establishing household in the RECTRAC system. Support facility logistics as needed such as periodically checking and replenishing the outdoor athletic facilities restrooms for supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc. Helps prepare and maintain gymnasiums and other playing fields for formal, recurring and informal sports i.e. athletic equipment, softball fields, football fields and picnic pavilions in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Assists supervisor with programs and activities sponsored by the Semper Fit Athletic Section such as Adult and Youth Sports, Fitness Activities, All-Marine Programs and special events.

Qualifications
- One year experience in athletic/recreational activities or a related field along with and customer service experience.
- The ability to read and interpret guidelines pertaining to facility operation, which are directly applicable to MCCS policies.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing using tact and courtesy.
- Must have basic computer skills. CPR and First Aid certification required or the ability to obtain, within one month from the date of hire.
- May be required to obtain government driver's license.
