
AIRCRAFT MECHANIC CREW CHIEF (TITLE 32)
As an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC CREW CHIEF, WG-8852-12, you will manage, monitor or perform overall maintenance, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more highly technical, high performance military aircraft. Request maintenance services exceeding AASF capabilities or time constraints. Oversee ground movement of aircraft. Ensure Unit Level Logistics-Aviation (ULLS-A) and other aircraft documentation accurately reflects status and airworthiness of assigned aircraft. Clear Red X status symbols on aircraft forms for work performed by others. Plan, develop and conduct proficiency training during the technician work week to a multi-faceted workforce comprised of Full Time Support (FTS) and supported unit personnel. Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and support exercises. Comply with safety, fire, security, environmental, and housekeeping regulations. Perform other duties as assigned.

- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.

- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver’s license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
- Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment.
- Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.

Military Grades: E-4 through E-6
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training that has provided you with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications; skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, you must have 18 months experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series; experience and ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment; ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series.
