Canvas Administration Consultant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Canvas LMS Support Engineer to provide first-line support for our Learning Management System (Canvas). This role focuses on resolving low-level technical issues, escalating complex problems to the appropriate teams, and working with vendors to ensure timely ticket resolution. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience in higher education, and a solid understanding of LMS administration with a technical edge.
Canvas LMS Support Engineer Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for LMS-related support tickets from students, faculty, and staff
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic issues such as password resets, user account updates, and content changes
- Escalate more complex issues to internal technical teams or external vendors as needed
- Manage and track support tickets to ensure timely resolution and follow-up
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve technical issues and service interruptions
- Perform basic administrative tasks within the Canvas LMS environment
- Assist with API integrations and support related technical operations
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge base articles for common support topics
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate technical information in a clear, user-friendly manner
Canvas LMS Support Engineer Requirements:
- Hands-on experience working with Canvas LMS in an administrative or support capacity
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a service-oriented mindset
- Familiarity with API integrations and basic technical troubleshooting
- Comfortable working in a ticketing system to manage and document support requests
- Background in higher education or experience supporting faculty and students is highly preferred
- Basic understanding of HTML and CSS
- Experience working in cross-functional teams including IT, academic departments, and vendors
- Familiarity with instructional technology or digital learning environments
