Our nonprofit client is looking for a Web Content Manager to join their team for 2 months, 35hr/wk, on site in Burlingame, CA. In this role, you will oversee the creation, optimization, and management of online content to ensure it aligns with organizational goals and enhances user experience. You will maintain and update WordPress website content, with a strong working knowledge of Gravity Forms.
Responsibilities:
- Create, develop, and produce content for organizational websites.
- Edit online content for style, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and proofread across text and PDF formats.
- Assist with day-to-day website management by maintaining timelines for posted items, handling routine updates, and revising content as necessary.
- Edit original website copy from various departments and team contributors.
- Perform tasks involving the collection, dissemination, and posting of sensitive materials related to members, leaders, and services, exercising discretion when forwarding documents or content for publishing.
- Manage all webmaster and editor email inquiries, including responding, routing requests to appropriate personnel, and following up to ensure completion.
- Assist with maintenance and redesign of website content and functionality, answer user questions, and offer suggestions for improving usability.
- Research information and verify facts for website content as needed.
- Maintain, update, and support online systems used for advocacy or content management.
- Train staff in the use of content management software.
- Support committees or advisory groups related to website management, including preparing meeting minutes and following up on subcommittee actions.
- Assist in the development of resources or materials for organizational events, such as online education or training.
- Provide general administrative support to the Communications Department manager and team.
Requirements
- Proficient in WordPress and Gravity Forms.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong initiative with the ability to see large, complex projects through to completion.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to recommend appropriate solutions.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using computer technology, with the ability to learn and apply organizational software programs.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members in a complex, interdependent department structure.
