Position Overview:

We are seeking an HR Business Partner, West Coast to oversee human resources operations across a designated retail and wholesale region. This role will also play a critical part in supporting the recruitment needs for retail roles (including new store openings), wholesale positions, and junior-level corporate roles. The ideal candidate will excel in managing regional HR strategy, fostering employee engagement, and driving talent acquisition efforts to support business growth. This position requires a proactive and collaborative professional with experience in both retail and wholesale environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with retail and wholesale leaders to align HR strategies with business objectives across the assigned region

• Provide guidance on employee relations, workforce planning, and performance management

• Ensure HR policies, practices, and procedures are consistently implemented and comply with labor laws

• Own performance management processes in partnership with regional leadership

• Partner with HR Leadership to execute performance reviews

• Visit retail stores and build relationships with teams and managers through formal store visits, regional calls and partnerships

• Lead full-cycle recruitment for retail and wholesale Store Manager and leadership roles in the region, including hiring for new store openings.

• Manage job postings, reference checks, and processes for all retail roles across the organization

• Oversee the hiring process for junior-level corporate roles as needed, ensuring a seamless candidate experience

• Collaborate with hiring managers to develop job descriptions, source talent, conduct interviews, and manage offers

• Provide training, onboarding, and HR support to ensure a successful launch of new locations

• Help build a positive workplace culture through regular communication and engagement initiatives with retail teams

• Support managers in coaching, developing, and retaining top talent across retail and wholesale teams

• Act as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, providing solutions to HR-related issues

• Conduct exit interviews and provide recommendations for improving retention

• Support in reporting and analysis of employment reporting and partner with HR coordinator to ensure timely reports

• Manage onboarding process as needed

• Participate in or lead ad hoc HR Projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

• 5+ years of HR experience, with a focus on retail and/or wholesale industries

• Proven experience in recruitment, especially for high-volume retail and junior corporate roles

• Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

• Proficiency in HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and Microsoft Office Suit

• Experience managing HR operations for multi-site retail locations

• Knowledge of wholesale recruitment and talent development

• Prior involvement in new store openings and corporate talent acquisition preferred
