Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research to support ongoing litigation.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery materials.
  • Summarize medical records and manage case-specific documents.
  • Organize, maintain, and file case files, ensuring timely access to critical information.
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, witness lists, and trial notebooks.
  • Attend court hearings, pre-trial conferences, and trials to provide in-court support, including taking notes and managing exhibits.
  • Coordinate and schedule court appearances, depositions, and meetings with clients and witnesses.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and experts to prepare for trial and post-trial activities.
  • Ensure that all legal documents are filed with the appropriate courts and comply with local Alabama rules and regulations.
  • Prepare trial binders and assist in managing trial logistics to ensure everything runs smoothly during hearings and trials.
  • Prepare deposition summaries, manage discovery responses, and assist attorneys with trial strategy.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in personal injury law.
  • Strong understanding of legal research techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
