The Sales Manager focuses on finding new customers and distribution for our soft goods products beyond the off-price channel. Through market knowledge, research and by utilizing company resources the Sales Manager will open new accounts and manage them for a year before handing them off to a sales executive. Must be motivated, well-organized and have a deep understanding of prospecting and developing strong relationships with new customers. Previous soft home experience is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and develops new business opportunities in the soft home space outside of the Off-Price channel, such as Macy’s, Kohl’s, Belk, Dillard’s, Walmart, Target, Costco, etcetera.
  • Builds relationships with new customers, gets opening orders and manages the Sales for the first year.
  • Achieves $3M+ in new sales with new customers each year.
  • Evaluates existing partnerships and sales efforts with an eye toward building on what works and achieving further customer sales through filling white space opportunities.
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive business in new and existing markets. Manages key client relationships and works to build new ones.
  • Identifies company opportunities through licensed, store or private label brands to open new customers and works cross functionally to deliver to the market assortments that help open new distribution channels.
  • Tracks emerging market trends for the Company and communicates internally regarding future products and categories for continued sales growth.
  • Develops and strengthens internal and external relationships that will lead to increased sales and market share.
  • Collaboratives cross-functionally to guide and nourish sustainable, long-term growth.
  • Fosters and works to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across all teams and work functions.
  • Proposes and develops strategic partnerships while researching and identifying new markets.
  • Provides advice on product development and distribution and promotion strategies.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • 7-10+ years’ sales experience and strong knowledge in soft home sector
  • Leadership, management, mentoring skills, enthusiasm and sincerity
  • Strategic planning skills and-picture thinking with ability to be hands on and execute
  • Excellent track record in soft home of scaling sales through new market(s) penetration
  • Financial and business acumen, negotiation skills, research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills and a relationship builder.
  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA a plus
