Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
1. Payroll Knowledge:
Strong understanding of union payroll processes, including CBAs, union dues, and benefits administration.
Familiarity with non-union payroll practices, including standard pay policies and tax regulations.
2. JDE Expertise:
Proficiency in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Payroll module, including setup and configuration for union-specific rules.
Knowledge of integration with other JDE modules like HR, Time & Attendance, and Financials.
3. Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to handle complex payroll scenarios and provide effective solutions for union and non-union requirements.
4. Analytical Skills:
Capable of interpreting CBAs and translating them into system configurations.
Strong attention to detail for ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance.
5. Communication and Collaboration:
Excellent communication skills to work with HR, payroll, union representatives, and technical teams.
Ability to explain complex payroll processes to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience Required
10+ years of experience with JDE Payroll, specifically handling union and non-union payroll.
Experience in implementing or upgrading JDE systems for organizations with diverse workforce structures.
Roles & Responsibilities Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand payroll requirements for unionized and non-unionized employees.
Analyze collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) to configure payroll rules for union workers, such as overtime, shift differentials, dues, and benefits.
2. System Configuration:
Configure JDE Payroll to handle union-specific requirements such as:
Multiple pay rates for different job types or projects.
Rules for union dues, benefits, and deductions.
Overtime calculations based on CBA provisions.
Configure non-union payroll processes, ensuring compliance with standard company policies and legal requirements.
3. Union-Specific Features:
Develop solutions for handling complex payroll structures, such as tiered pay scales, seniority-based benefits, and retroactive adjustments.
Set up and maintain reporting requirements for union compliance, such as fringe benefits and trust fund contributions.
4. Integration and Interfaces:
Ensure seamless integration of JDE Payroll with Time & Attendance systems, benefits platforms, and financial modules.
Support interfaces for union reporting, tax filing, and third-party benefit providers.
5. Testing and Validation:
Perform functional testing to ensure payroll configurations meet union and non-union requirements.
Conduct end-to-end testing for payroll runs, ensuring accuracy in gross-to-net calculations, deductions, and reporting.
6. Compliance and Auditing:
Ensure payroll processes comply with union agreements, labor laws, and tax regulations.
Support audits by generating accurate reports and providing documentation.
7. Documentation and Training:
Create de tailed process documentation, including workflows, payroll rules, and exception handling.
Train HR and payroll teams on managing union and non-union payroll processes within JDE.
8. Support and Troubleshooting:
Provide post-implementation support for both union and non-union payroll operations.
Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
9. Process Optimization:
Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes for both employee groups.
Suggest system enhancements to reduce manual interventions and improve accuracy.
