Overview:
Our client, a multidisciplinary AECM firm with a vast east coast presence is looking to hire an Office Engineer. This would be a full-time, W-2 position working for their firm based in the Albany area. This role will also require travel to worksites occasionally, as needed.
Our client is seeking an Office Engineer to support the Division of Contract Management in the advertisement, bidding, and awarding of construction contracts. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in public procurement, contract administration, and construction contracting, especially on projects exceeding $1 million. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to self-direct are highly valued.
Salary Range: $67 - $73k
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Advertisement Support: Handle all tasks related to preparing construction contracts for advertisement.
- Contract Document Review: Review, verify, and finalize contract documentation.
- Advertisement Management: Coordinate the public advertisement of construction contracts.
- Bid Auditing: Evaluate and audit bids for fairness and compliance.
- Contract Administration: Manage contracts throughout the pre-award phase.
- Document Preparation: Prepare complete and accurate contract packages for submission to the Office of the State Comptroller (OSC).
- Procurement Oversight: Ensure regulatory compliance in the procurement of public construction projects and liaise with internal/external stakeholders to meet project goals.

- Minimum Qualifications:5 years – Experience on construction projects valued over $1 million, including preparation and review of construction contracting documents for procurement
- General experience in procurement, contract administration, or a related field
- OSHA 10 Certification – Required
- Experience in public procurement and/or public construction contracting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to self-manage and work independently
