Job Overview:
Client is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on EHS Engineer with a strong foundation in environmental compliance and application development to join their team in Houston, TX. This role is crucial in bridging environmental regulatory expertise with modern data-driven compliance tools. The ideal candidate will have a background in air consulting, permitting, and demonstrated experience developing and maintaining applications and visual dashboards using Spotfire, Analyst Platform, Power BI, and SQL scripting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Environmental Compliance: Lead efforts in air permitting and consulting, manage compliance tools, and ensure all activities meet regulatory and corporate environmental standards.
- Application Development: Architect, build, and maintain software tools and dashboards to streamline environmental reporting and data analysis.
- Technical Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, operations, and environmental teams to understand reporting needs, gather system requirements, and provide customized solutions.
- Data Analysis & Visualization: Leverage Spotfire, Power BI, and SQL to perform in-depth data mining and develop interactive compliance reports and visualizations.
- User Support & Training: Provide end-user support, deliver training sessions, and create documentation for environmental systems and data management best practices.
- Knowledge Transfer: Participate in structured handover with the outgoing senior engineer to ensure uninterrupted project continuity and system knowledge.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements in workflows, data accuracy, reporting tools, and compliance methodologies.
- Regulatory Adherence: Monitor compliance with industry regulations and data governance policies to mitigate risks and support audits.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in environmental compliance, air consulting, or oil & gas engineering roles.
- Proven ability to develop applications and dashboards to support compliance efforts.
- Advanced proficiency in Spotfire, Analyst Platform, Power BI, and SQL scripting.
- Strong grasp of environmental compliance tools, permitting workflows, and regulatory reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical thinking and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Clear and professional communication, both written and verbal.
- Strong team player with the ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with other environmental compliance platforms.
- Experience in Agile/DevOps environments.
- Prior involvement in data migration and system integration initiatives.
