Sr Software Engineer



Duties:

Our Software Engineers work in an agile, collective environment. You will be using your skills and expertise to define, design, develop, test, certify and improve cutting-edge software products. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll perform coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting of systems and software throughout our development process.

This role will provide software engineering support and DevOps coordination to direct program team working toward a significant upcoming integration event that includes the integration of multiple new components into a single code base. Primary activities will include:

Documentation:

Comprehensive systems operational procedure manuals based on newly built systems capabilities.

Write comprehensive test scripts for newly developed system controls.

Coordination:

Coordinate with the program's Sr. Software Engineers and the SNC DevOps team to build the DevOps pipeline & ensure that components can integrated and released with high velocity.

Build out test automation capabilities.

Interface with the DevSecOps team to ensure full compliance of new systems capabilities built on the program (cyber-security testing, code analysis, etc).

Systems Integration:

Coordinate a systems needs analysis and integration activities for the system integration lab.]

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements: Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps. Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity. Rarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs. Working Conditions: Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials. Rarely exposed to loud noises

Skills:

Must-haves: Thorough understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.

Preferred Skills:

Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming Languages such as C# and Java.

Experience with software tools for requirements tracking, including the Atlassian suite of tools including Jira, Bitbucket, and Confluence. Experience performing code reviews, static analysis, library and artifact repository, and automated build Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and Spiral Proficient with data structures.

Education:

Must-haves: Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
