We are currently seeking a Research Associate to join our R&D discovery team in Frederick, MD. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in essential techniques in molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology, and be a fast learner capable of mastering our state-of-the-art drug discovery platforms to support our expanding therapeutic pipeline.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conduct drug discovery activities using established platforms under the supervision of experienced scientists.
  • Perform molecular biology experiments, including RT-PCR, cloning, plasmid purification, and gel electrophoresis.
  • Carry out biochemical and biophysical assays such as small-scale protein expression and purification, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, ELISA, and biolayer interferometry (BLI).
  • Perform mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays, including transient transfection and flow cytometry.
  • Maintain accurate and organized experimental records; analyze data and prepare scientific reports.
  • Provide routine lab support, including preparing culture media and plates, and additional R&D activities as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s, or master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Hands-on experience in molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Capable of performing physical activities, including occasionally lifting of objects up to 30 lbs and standing for prolonged periods.
