Title: Business Systems Analyst Oracle/SQL Financial focus
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid onsite)
Duration: 12+ Months
Role Type: W2 only; potential contract-to-hire (must be able to convert to perm)

Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Systems Analyst with expertise in financial reporting, SQL, and Oracle systems, to support technology and finance operations within the energy sector. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient reporting by working across finance, IT, and data governance teams.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Analyze business and system requirements for financial reporting processes specific to the energy industry
  • Design and run complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze financial data
  • Collaborate with finance, accounting, and data governance teams to define reporting needs, ensure data accuracy, and maintain data integrity standards
  • Work with Oracle-based platforms to troubleshoot issues and implement enhancements
  • Partner with IT and other business stakeholders to improve system functionality and reporting workflows
  • Ensure alignment with data governance policies, contributing to quality assurance and compliance efforts
  • Support testing and implementation of system updates, ensuring business continuity and regulatory adherence

Required Skills and Experience:


  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Computer Science required.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, preferably in the energy, utilities, or industrial sectors
  • Advanced SQL skills for querying and reporting
  • Experience with Oracle systems (Oracle EBS, ERP, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, data structures, and general accounting principles
  • Familiarity with data governance practices and frameworks
  • Effective communication skills with both technical and business teams

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with enterprise reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in the energy industry
  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment with IT, finance, and data governance groups

Bonus If You Have


  • Utility industry background
