Environmental Health and Safety Manager: Assists in the development, execution and administration of corporate Safety and Security programs to ensure effective and efficient operations by performing the following duties.

Conducts inspections and audits to be used by management to assess compliance with laws, regulations and company policies governing the health, safety and security of individuals and company assets.

Travels to locations where company employees and assets are deployed to observe, inspect, investigate, or audit operational practices and operations.

Utilizes company security systems, including video surveillance and recorders, GPS systems in vehicles, and the internet features of these and associated systems.

Supports the efforts and training of the Safety Coordinators in the field.

Utilizes and completes approved inspection, audit, and observation forms to document compliance/non-compliance with applicable operational requirements.

Provides direction to management for improvement to operational safety and security policies, procedures, and re- sources.

Prepares reports in the requested format documenting observations, audits, and inspections.

Consults with all management and line employees on design and execution of corporate safety and security programs.

Supports the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, losses, and insurance
investigations.

Prepares and distributes Safety and Security related material for display and distribution throughout the organization.

Represents the organization in community or industry safety and security groups and programs, as assigned.

Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science degree (B. S.) from four-year College or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform basic functions of math in all units of measure and formats and to interpret rate, ratio, percent, and graphs.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to identify and solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Be able to travel frequently to all company business locations (40% of time).

Must meet company driver qualifications.
