Assistant Director of Development
Trinity Episcopal School seeks a detail-oriented, relational and mission-driven development professional to join our dynamic community. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of a small, collaborative advancement team and will help manage all aspects of the Development Office, including donor stewardship, event planning, database management and administrative support.
This individual will play a key role in advancing Trinity’s culture of philanthropy by supporting and spearheading fundraising initiatives such as the Trailblazer (Annual) Fund, capital campaigns and community events. They will also help foster meaningful relationships with donors, alumni, parents and friends of the school to further Trinity’s mission.
This position requires someone who is highly organized, collaborative, and committed to building a strong, supportive community. Availability outside of standard school hours is required for events.
Primary ResponsibilitiesFundraising Support
- Support the planning and execution of annual giving campaigns, capital campaigns and other strategic fundraising initiatives that sustain and grow the school’s philanthropic goals.
- Collaborate to research, identify, and engage prospective donors, including parents, alumni, grandparents and friends of the school.
- Lead the execution of direct mail and digital fundraising campaigns, including content coordination, segmentation and timeline management.
- Assist in preparing compelling grant proposals, stewardship reports and presentation materials to support donor engagement and institutional funding opportunities.
- Manage donor recognition efforts, ensuring timely acknowledgment and ongoing stewardship of supporters at all giving levels.
Office Management & Coordination
- Oversee and manage development-related calendars, including scheduling events, meetings and key deadlines.
- Assist in preparing materials for meetings, campaigns and events.
- Co-manage the donor database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records to ensure accurate correspondence, gift acknowledgments and donor communications.
Event Planning & Collaboration
- Plan and execute development-related events, including annual fundraising events, donor appreciation gatherings and alumni reunions.
- Coordinate logistics, timelines, vendor relationships and volunteer support for events.
- Collaborate with the communications team and other school partners to ensure consistent branding and effective promotion of events and initiatives.
- Manage events and ensure timely follow-up with participants and donors.
Community Engagement
- Build and nurture strong relationships with faculty, staff, parents, alumni and donors to foster a culture of community and shared purpose.
- Act as an ambassador for Trinity Episcopal School’s mission and values, representing the school with warmth, professionalism and integrity.
- Actively participate in the full life of the school—attending events, supporting traditions, and engaging with students and colleagues—to develop a deep understanding of the Trinity experience and strengthen community connections.
- Collaborate across departments to support initiatives that enhance engagement, visibility and philanthropic support.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience in development, event planning, education or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with donor databases (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Bloomerang, or similar platforms) is preferred.
- Proficiency with Google suite and other digital tools.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
- A collaborative and proactive team player.
- Strong time-management skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
