Our client, a rapidly scaling health-tech innovator, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their growing engineering organization. This hybrid role, based in New York City, offers the chance to shape the foundation of a high-impact platform that's redefining how individuals access and manage healthcare benefits. If you're passionate about automation, scalability, and performance, and thrive in fast-moving environments, this opportunity is for you.

Why This Role Is Unique:

This isn't your average infrastructure role. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you'll be at the heart of ensuring platform reliability in a dynamic startup environment. You'll architect scalable systems, optimize performance, and implement modern DevOps practices-all while working closely with engineering, data, and product teams. This is a chance to influence both technology and culture in a mission-driven company that prizes agility, technical excellence, and bold innovation.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 3+ years of high-impact, hands-on experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or related role
  • Strong background in cloud infrastructure (AWS)-including VPCs, ECS, RDS, Lambda, and Route 53.
  • Advanced experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and CI/CD (GitHub Actions preferred).
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Ruby, JavaScript).
  • Experience with observability platforms (DataDog or similar) for performance monitoring and alerting.
  • Proven track record designing scalable, fault-tolerant systems and managing incident response workflows.

Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Prior experience in a startup or high-growth company environment.
  • Familiarity with microservices, serverless architecture, and data infrastructure (EMR, Glue, Redshift, Athena).

What You Will Be Doing:

Tech Breakdown:
  • 40% Infrastructure Design & Automation
  • 30% System Monitoring & Performance Tuning
  • 30% Collaboration, Mentorship & Reliability Engineering

Daily Responsibilities:
  • 60% Hands-On Infrastructure and Reliability Work
  • 20% Cross-Team Collaboration & Incident Management
  • 20% Mentoring, Documentation & Strategic Planning

The Offer:
  • Competitive compensation package
  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • A hybrid work culture that values flexibility, ownership, and continuous improvement
  • Opportunity to build and scale within a mission-driven tech company

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future.
