Do you love creating great products? Do you want to make a big impact in an industry that needs someone like you - someone who can bring elegant solutions to complex problems?

Document Crunch is seeking a Product Design Contractor to join our amazing and tight-knit team. You'll be working on our Risk Review product, which solves contract review challenges for legal experts, risk managers, and other back-office teams in the construction industry. Our AI tools enable construction teams to get contract subject matter expertise—usually only gained through outside consulting—for a fraction of the cost. We empower the entire industry by identifying WHAT critical issues exist in contracts and documents, and WHY those critical issues matter, so the teams can make better business decisions without traditional overhead.

In this role, you will influence design direction for new features and iteratively improve existing experiences for Risk Review. You'll partner with Product to conduct user research and discovery, rapidly iterate on design concepts, and collaborate with Engineering and QA to ship updates. The best candidates will be effective communicators, with a balance of great UX skills, visual style, and pragmatism.

A must for this position (and everyone on our team!) is to stay true to our core values:

We Are Warmhearted

Our success is powered entirely by our people who are real and approachable. We foster an environment that is warm, fun and welcoming for everyone.

We Are Fiercly Inspired

We care deeply about our mission and are inspired by our potential. If it was easy, everybody would do it, but we are striving for greatness. We take pride in being owners in this journey.

We Are Growth-Minded

Life is short and we want to make our time count. We invest in growth—personally and professionally. We never stop chasing our why.

What You'll Do:

  • Work on all types of design projects, such as first-time experience flows, improvements to existing features, and testing new feature ideas
  • Distill complex workflows and user journeys into intuitive user experiences
  • Conduct UX research, extract insights, and fold learnings into designs
  • Work closely with Product to ideate and define product features and enhancements
  • Communicate clearly and often with Engineering and Product to bring your designs to life
  • Contribute to design team culture and practices

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience designing applications (bonus for B2B products)
  • Design portfolio showing your previous work and description of your process

Preferred:

  • Solid experience across the whole design process, from research, discovery, and ideation to high-fidelity wireframes, prototyping, and developer hand-off
  • Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with engineers, product, and other cross-functional team members
  • Strong desire to get to the root of customers' problems
  • Solid knowledge of UX design processes and methodologies, but adaptive and always happy to try out new approaches
  • Ability to pivot quickly in response to priority or scope changes
  • Expertise in using industry-standard design and prototyping tools (Figma, Miro, etc)
  • Eagerness to learn new products and the flexibility to adapt to changing processes
  • Available for occasional travel for onboarding, collaboration, and team building
