We are looking for a skilled Technical Writer to join our team on a long-term contract basis in West Des Moines, Iowa. This role focuses on crafting clear, concise, and accurate operational correspondence for individuals in the financial sector and policyholders, ensuring all communications align with the company's branding and tone guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to translate complex financial concepts into accessible language while maintaining technical precision.

Responsibilities:
Create and revise business materials such as policy statements, product updates, service transaction letters, and fair-market value communications.
Develop internal communications to inform employees about messaging for policyholders or individuals in the financial sector and prepare talking points for operations staff.
Plan and outline content projects, ensuring all materials follow a logical structure and flow.
Collaborate with stakeholders across Operations, Compliance, IT, Sales, and Distribution to ensure technical accuracy and consistent brand voice.
Utilize a comprehensive proofreading process to deliver error-free and high-quality content.
Facilitate discussions with business partners and IT teams to implement correspondence solutions that improve workflows, reduce risks, and support technical flexibility.
Write and edit reports, correspondence, procedure manuals, and talking points tailored to the needs of various audiences.
Respond to inquiries and complaints from customers with professionalism and clarity.
Manage time effectively and adjust priorities based on team and project needs.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational goals.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
Familiarity with AP writing style and Agile Scrum methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate complex financial concepts, particularly related to annuities.
Strong skills in writing, editing, and proofreading to produce error-free content.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, business publications, and regulatory documents.
Excellent time management and multitasking skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors on content-related projects.
