Key Responsibilities
- Start up and shut down injection molding presses daily, ensuring all systems are operational and safe.
- Run and monitor production, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Perform preventative maintenance on molds, presses, dryers, and other auxiliary equipment to minimize downtime and ensure reliability.
- Set up molds and processes according to documented standards; disassemble, clean, and reassemble molds as needed.
- Support installation and validation of new molds, equipment, and tooling.
- Generate and maintain procedures such as setup sheets, work instructions, and troubleshooting guides to support repeatable processes.
- Inspect molded parts for visual and dimensional quality, adjusting processes when necessary.
- Document production runs for traceability and continuous process improvement.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities, including 5S, root cause analysis, and automation initiatives.
- Collaborate across departments (engineering, quality, production) to identify and implement improvements in safety, efficiency, and quality.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on injection molding experience, including setup, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Excellent documentation, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Experience in medical device manufacturing
- Familiarity with scientific molding practices
- Exposure to procedure creation, installation support, or process validation work
