Our client, a US based bank, is looking for a direct hire in their Risk & Compliance department. Work is remote with occasional overnight travel to the corporate headquarters.
Responsibilities -
- Oversee the bank’s policy and procedure management system/module, ensuring it functions optimally and meets organizational needs.
- Administer, configure, and customize the policy management system to align with the bank’s internal workflows and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that the system is user-friendly and provides stakeholders with easy access to the most current versions of policies and procedures.
- Manage the lifecycle of all policies and procedures, ensuring accurate version control and proper documentation of updates.
- Implement structured workflows for the creation, review, approval, and distribution of policies and procedures across departments.
- Ensure policies and procedures are properly stored, with an audit trail for all revisions, and remain compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor industry regulations and internal needs to ensure policies and procedures are regularly updated and compliant with relevant laws.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and department heads to draft, revise, and finalize policies and procedures in line with business objectives.
- Coordinate and facilitate the periodic review process to ensure all policies are reviewed on schedule.
- Provide training and support to bank employees on how to navigate and utilize the policy and procedure management system.
- Develop training materials, guides, and resources to assist employees in understanding new or updated policies and procedures.
- Address user inquiries and issues related to the system, ensuring resolution in a timely and effective manner.
- Generate reports on the status of policies and procedures, including review timelines, approval workflows, and the completion of updates.
- Track compliance with internal policy review cycles, identifying bottlenecks and recommending process improvements.
- Provide regular management reports on the effectiveness of the policy management system, highlighting trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure that all policies and procedures are documented and managed in compliance with banking regulations, industry standards, and internal control requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and complete policy records and assisting in audit preparation.
- Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and audit standards, ensuring the policy and procedure management system is audit-ready at all times.
- Continuously evaluate the policy and procedure management process to identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
- Work closely with IT teams and external vendors to implement system enhancements, ensuring the platform remains aligned with evolving organizational needs.
- Research industry best practices for policy management and apply relevant improvements to the bank’s system and processes.
