MAR/ERM Analyst – Leading P&C Insurance Carrier

About the Role:

James Search Group is partnering with this leading carrier to hire a MAR/ERM Analyst on a contract-to-hire basis. This role begins as a 3-month contract with the opportunity to convert to full-time based on performance and organizational fit. The successful candidate will play a key role in executing MAR and Global Risk Assessment processes while supporting internal control evaluations and risk management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with process owners to update process documentation and identify key internal controls
  • Evaluate and test internal controls, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions
  • Assist in transitioning MAR and Risk Assessment processes into Decision Focus (DF) platform
  • Train and support colleagues on DF tool functionality
  • Promote COSO framework and the three lines of defense risk management model
  • Support Financial Control, ERM, ORSA, and Regulatory Risk Reporting deliverables

What We’re Looking For:

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of progressive internal or external audit experience within P&C Insurance
  • Hands-on experience evaluating internal controls and risk frameworks

Technical Proficiency:

  • Strong understanding of risk, control, and testing methodologies
  • Familiarity with enterprise risk management concepts and COSO framework
  • Exposure to Decision Focus (DF) or similar GRC tools preferred
  • Experience auditing IT systems is a plus

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, or similar certification strongly preferred

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical, written, and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Self-starter comfortable working independently and cross-functionally
