Job Title: Data Architect

As a Senior Data Architect, you will lead the design, alignment, and advancement of enterprise data architecture. This role emphasizes data transformation, governance, and enrichment. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the data ecosystem that drives organizational growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and establish the data architecture framework, setting standards and best practices across data modeling, metadata management, security, reference data, and master data.

  • Provide strategic guidance on data-related matters including data processing, data lake architecture, integration techniques, and governance.

  • Promote and champion the enterprise data strategy among stakeholders, including business units and development teams, through documentation, reviews, and collaboration to support broader business and technology objectives.

  • Drive continuous improvement of the data platform, focusing on technology upgrades, cost optimization, and compliance.

  • Select and communicate standard architectural approaches, recommend frameworks, and develop technical roadmaps.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams-including data engineers, scientists, business analysts, and product teams-to collect requirements and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

Experience and Skills Required:
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Data Architecture.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Strong hands-on expertise in enterprise system architecture, solution/integration design, and technology evaluation.

  • Proven track record in developing enterprise data platforms, implementing data strategies, and managing data at scale.

  • Deep experience with Azure Data Stack: Azure SQL, Data Factory, Databricks, ADLS, DevOps, Event Hubs, etc.

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Python, Java, Scala, or C#.

  • Demonstrated experience in architecting both greenfield and brownfield environments across cloud and on-premises.

  • Strong background in building and scaling data warehouses, data lakes, or lakehouses.

  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps best practices.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience architecting and implementing Data Mesh architecture.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and automating data/ML production pipelines.

  • Prior exposure to legacy Hadoop ecosystems.

  • Experience collaborating closely with Data Science teams.

  • Healthcare data experience is a strong plus.
