Position Summary & Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Oracle WACS Costing Lead to manage and optimize the costing functionalities within Oracle's Work and Asset Cloud Service (WACS) platform for utility operations. This role is essential for ensuring accurate cost tracking, budgeting, and financial reporting across utility operations. The ideal candidate will possess deep experience in utility cost management, ERP integrations, and Oracle Cloud platforms, and will serve as a bridge between operations, finance, and IT. Key responsibilities are as follows:

Costing Configuration and Management:

  • Configure and maintain costing rules, structures, and workflows within Oracle WACS.

  • Monitor and validate the accurate allocation of labor, material, and equipment costs to work orders, projects, and asset records.

  • Manage cost accumulations and validations to support planning and forecasting processes.

Integration and Data Management:

  • Oversee costing data integration with related enterprise platforms including ERP (e.g., Oracle Financials), GIS, and other operational systems.

  • Ensure the consistency and reliability of costing data across the ecosystem.

  • Collaborate with technical teams to define data mappings and transformation logic.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Partner with finance, operations, and field teams to align costing processes with business objectives and reporting requirements.

  • Provide guidance and support to end-users and internal teams for cost reporting and reconciliation.

  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to identify opportunities for process improvement.

Compliance and Best Practices:

  • Ensure all costing processes align with regulatory guidelines, utility standards, and audit controls.

  • Stay updated on Oracle WACS updates and utilities finance best practices to ensure the platform remains optimized.

  • Provide input on internal controls and participate in system reviews and audits as needed.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in cost accounting or finance roles, with 3+ years specifically in Oracle Cloud applications, preferably WACS or similar Work and Asset Management platforms.

  • In-depth knowledge of cost allocation, budgeting, project costing, and asset tracking in a utility or infrastructure environment.

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP, financial integrations, and enterprise data management.

  • Strong communication skills to translate technical costing details to business stakeholders.

  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to data integrity and process accuracy.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in the utilities sector, particularly electric, gas, or water utilities.

  • Familiarity with GIS integrations, Oracle Financials Cloud, or other enterprise asset management tools.

  • Oracle Cloud certification in Work and Asset Cloud Service or related modules.
