
Dog Groomer NA-07
- Incumbent looks after the condition of dogs' coats by shampooing, clipping, trimming and grooming. Advises owners on their dog's coat care, grooming and diet.
- Discusses with the dog's owner what type of grooming is needed.
- Checks skin for ticks, fleas, sore or inflamed areas and any lumps. Shampoos, dries, brushes, combs dog's coat to get rid of tangles.
- Trims dog with electric clippers or stripping knife into the right shape for its bread and styles with scissors. Clips dog's claws, cleans teeth and ears.
- Maintains cleanliness of kennels and crates. Keeps dog comfortable, safe and secure at all times. Cleans and sanitizes tools and equipment, keeping both in good working condition.

Requires thorough techniques, knowledge and experience in dog grooming. Knowledge of animal's characteristics, and behavior. Requires skill in handling dogs and apply this skill to transfer dogs into and out of kennels and cages without injuring animals or getting bitten or scratched. Skillful in using corrects tools for grooming. Requires basic clerical experience, making appointments, collecting fees and setting up and maintaining files.

- Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
