Instructor Trainer 3
Additional Information:
- Position will be 2 days (Mondays and Fridays) remote and 3 days (Tuesdays-Thursdays) on-site at the location listed above. Program will only allow candidates who are LOCAL TO THE AUSTIN AREA ONLY.
- Please do not submit candidates who are currently out of state and are planning to move to Texas. Candidates must already reside in Texas.
Project Scope:
These Instructor Trainer contractor positions are part of the Administrative Applications Grants Management System team and will be working to develop, implement, and provide role and scenario-based training materials (written, recorded, and in person) for the purposes of end users, external users, and administrators of the enterprise Grants Management System (GMS) in Salesforce. These positions will perform Instructor Trainer duties that will involve the creation of both written and recorded webinar training materials for agency and external users. These positions may be required to provide in-person training to system users, based on needs of the agency.
8 or more years of experience designing, developing and implementing training curricula. Develop training programs, including web-based and instructor led courses, job-aids, videos, etc. Minimum 5 years of experience conducting classes regarding standard operating procedures of various software solutions, IT security, IT system installation, software programming, system maintenance, and repair of software, operational support best practices, and equipment. Experience with web based learning management systems and e-Learning authoring tools. Expert knowledge of MS Office Suite 2010 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). A high degree of aptitude and flexibility to deliver training on a myriad of software products. Experience in delivering technical training in cloud-based technology is a plus.
Roles/Responsibilities:
- Prepare, conduct, and evaluate technical training programs.
- Write literature and training materials for instructional use.
- Design exercises to enhance lectures.
- Deliver on-site and web-based training courses covering various software solutions.
- Lead the development of infrastructure for information delivery.
- Write and maintain training materials and supplementary technical documentation.
- Create instructor materials such as course outlines, background materials, instructional aids, and training aids.
- Develop content for COTS products, in-house IT-driven solutions, and desktop support processes (e.g., Remote Access Systems).
- Assist with formatting training materials created by other staff.
- Determine customer training needs and develop corresponding plans.
- Assist in the design of computer-based and multimedia curriculum.
- Plan, direct, and deliver classroom training, e-learning, simulators, multimedia programs, conferences, and workshops.
- Manage training programs in alignment with business needs, regulatory requirements, and Quality Management System.
- Help staff with internal and external productivity reporting.
- Research and recommend vendors, costs, and materials for various training methods (e.g., external classes, books, guides, web-based training).
- Stay current with trends in computer training, including alternative instructional methods and media.
- Use a computer to organize and draft curriculum by breaking complex subjects into instructional units.
- Create and integrate graphics into training content.
- Teach short technical courses to maintain proficiency and test new instructional techniques.
- Incorporate new curriculum elements and examples into the teaching process.
- Develop and maintain classroom techniques that promote professionalism and discipline.
- Develop alternative teaching techniques to maintain motivation and interest.
- Act as a testing officer by conducting test analysis and developing or revising test items.
- Collaborate with other training specialists on technical/system curriculum delivery, revision, and maintenance.
- Gather, analyze, and translate technical information into clear, readable training materials.
- Collect and analyze audience data and training needs based on new business processes and policies.
- Understand EIR Accessibility and assistive technologies used by individuals with disabilities.
- Communicate effectively with customers needing special assistance to access required or requested information.
