Job Details

Ideal Candidate: We are looking for engineers who are knowledgeable and well-versed in many (not necessarily all) of the following areas:

  • Firewall and security appliances (Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, etc.)
  • Switches and routers (HPE/Aruba, Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper)
  • Wireless access points and controllers (HPE/Aruba, Cisco, Fortinet)
  • NAC solutions (HPE/Aruba, Fortinet, Cisco)
  • ZTNA and VPN technologies (including SSL-VPN, IPSec, etc.)
  • Storage Area Networks (iSCSI SAN architecture)
  • Day-to-day administration of networks

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Expertise in secure network architecture, concepts, and design
  • Comprehensive LAN/WAN experience for routing, switches, ACLs, and VLANs
  • Advanced networking concepts (SD-WAN, OSPF, BGP, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of IPv4 and subnetting
  • Strong understanding of 802.11ac/ax wireless standards and best practices
  • Advanced troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience creating and maintaining network and project documentation
  • Recent and current vendor certifications from Fortinet, HPE/Aruba, Cisco, and others
  • Working knowledge of various server and storage platforms and operating systems (HPE, Dell, Windows Server, Linux/UNIX)

Personal Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and multitask
  • High attention to detail in all project tasks
  • Highly motivated and independent-a true self-starter
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate across an organization
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), follow-up, and presentation skills
  • Willingness to learn and stay current on emerging trends and technologies

Position Requirements:

  • At least 7+ years of high-level network design, implementation, and support experience
  • Ability to work with customers on-site and light travel to provide IT support in Southeastern Wisconsin
