Location: Remote, available from anywhere within the U.S.
Travel: Limited travel required to company retreats and client meetings as needed.
The Opportunity
The Math Curriculum Writer (Kindergarten) plays a vital role in the School Solutions division of K12 Coalition, specifically contributing to high-quality, inquiry-driven, and culturally responsive math curricula. This position supports the division’s mission of closing the opportunity gap by developing impactful math content for Kindergarten that aligns with academic standards and instructional best practices.
The Math Curriculum Writer (Kindergarten) reports to the Director of Curriculum.
What You’ll Do
Content Development
- Write, revise, and edit high-quality Kindergarten content for Lavinia Group’s K–5 Math curriculum, executing the division’s strategic content development plan.
- Ensure all materials meet the highest standards of instructional design, alignment to the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, and effective pedagogy.
- Incorporate research-based strategies, including cognitively guided instruction and culturally responsive teaching practices.
- Collaborate across teams to produce curriculum and supporting materials that reflect Lavinia Group’s core principles.
- Apply editorial best practices, including clear and precise writing, proofreading, and implementation of feedback at both detailed and structural levels.
- Maintain consistency across curriculum materials and iterations through a rigorous, feedback-informed revision process.
Project Execution
- Manage assigned curriculum scope and sequence deliverables on deadline.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams.
- Operate independently and effectively in a remote work environment.
- Embrace a cyclical development process that includes ideation, prototyping, drafting, review, and revision.
Other Duties
- Support the team with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to help meet evolving organizational goals and objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Math, Education, Early Childhood, or a related content area.
- Proven experience in Kindergarten math curriculum development, preferably for a national audience.
- Prior teaching experience in Kindergarten, especially with multilingual learners and diverse student populations.
- Demonstrated writing ability and communication skills (writing sample required).
- Strong knowledge of Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, including the Standards for Mathematical Practice.
- Understanding of research-based instructional strategies and pedagogy, including cognitively guided instruction.
- Ability to apply editorial and content quality standards across projects.
- Experience working within cross-functional teams in education or curriculum design environments.

Compensation Range
The compensation range for this position is $75,000 - $105,000 annually.
As part of our commitment to pay equity, new hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the salary band minimum and the salary band midpoint, depending on qualifications, location, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.
