Job Description

LPL is seeking an analyst to join its Investment Research department. This individual will help enhance and maintain our asset allocation process, generate regular, compelling research content, and contribute to the management of model portfolios. The analyst will work with LPL advisors and enterprise clients, providing guidance on our market outlook, asset allocation decisions, and portfolio construction.

As a member of the Research department the analyst will be a contributor to the firm’s Strategic and Tactical Asset Allocation Committee, which sets the asset allocation framework for our menu of actively managed multi-asset portfolios. The analyst will also be an contributor to enhancing our data-driven decision process.

This role will report directly to our asset allocation strategist and work closely with multiple key members of firm leadership, research, marketing, and public relations teams to help build an investment strategy offering for the firm that is respected across the industry and supports investment decision-making for LPL clients.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in asset allocation and/or contributing to the management of multi-asset portfolios.
  • Strong technical skills with a preference for experience with data management, analysis, and presentation, Advanced Excel skills required
  • An advanced understanding of investment management across multiple asset types.
  • Proficient in the use of analytical software and data sets such as Bloomberg and FactSet.
  • An advanced degree in economics, finance, or similar


Core Competencies:

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to cogently explain market, asset allocation, and portfolio views to financial advisors.


Preferences:

  • Series 7 and Series 66 preferred; or willingness to obtain
  • Experience with SQL, Alteryx, Python, Tableau, or similar
  • CFA designation is desirable

Pay Range:

$70,125-$116,875/year

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
