ASSMONT Steel USA Corporation is currently seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our growing Project Management Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in driving the success of our projects across the United States, while honing your skills in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work independently and in cooperation on project development (planning, management, monitoring). Collaborate daily with the U.S. Project Manager.
  • Define project goals, including presentation of results.
  • Assist in the creation of project schedules, including full project delivery and internal project schedule for design, purchasing, production, logistics, and construction.
  • Cost control and analysis, using expertise to propose cost-saving measures. Track and submit all extra work to the Project Manager.
  • Change management; assist the Project Manager with change orders including calculation, tracking, submission, and planning / execution of work.
  • Continuously update and develop the project schedules, both internally and externally, and notify stakeholders of project risks or delays
  • Assist with initial project budget and subsequent monthly budget updates, logging and forecasting all project costs, including project liquidity, forecasting, cost control and risk management
  • Assist, and occasionally lead the design phase of the project, including weekly / monthly meetings, progress reports, and review of internal and external drawings to ensure compliance and meet delivery deadlines
  • Assist in the creation of the full project scope of delivery and distribute to internal departments, meticulously manage the progress of purchasing, production, and logistics to ensure the timely delivery of materials
  • Logistics management; create and manage material delivery lists in coordination with our European departments
  • Conduct negotiations, manage contacts for customers, and oversee all construction phases during the project
  • In collaboration with the U.S. team, oversee personnel planning, including employee qualifications, the construction schedule, and ensuring an adequate number of personnel is onsite to meet project deadlines
  • Oversee technical aspects of the project; serve as a liaison between design and construction teams
  • Provide onsite technical support for tracking and resolution of complex issues
  • Ensure that all appropriate system requirements and documentation are accurate, taking responsibility for the project’s profitability throughout its lifecycle. This includes managing contracts, change orders, purchase orders, material and labor quotes, and site-related schedules
  • Maintain project-related documents including, but not limited to RFI’s, RFQ’s, change orders, meeting minutes, construction progress documentation, and photographs
  • Process and secure contractor registrations and permits as required
  • Possess a genuine commitment to strong OHS culture and values
  • Assist in developing and updating project specific safety documentation
  • Adhere strictly to safety regulations by enforcing safety protocols, conducting safety briefings, and working closely with the Safety Manager to ensure documents are compliant with site specific, local, and federal regulations
  • Collaborate with project team throughout the closeout process; warranty, demobilization, documentation and handover
  • Work in close collaboration with the US project manager to ensure a successful project

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to successfully work autonomously and with multicultural teams
  • Ability to operate in a fast paced, start-up environment where roles and responsibilities may frequently change
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; passport required
  • Possess an engineer’s mindset and strong background in constructability
  • Deep understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and convert construction documents including technical specifications and drawings
  • Possess strong negotiation skills
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in construction software including Procore, Microsoft project, etc.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motorized vehicle
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of industrial / manufacturing construction and experience with mission critical projects
  • OSHA 30, preferred
  • Knowledge and previous experience in the steel industry; ASRS racking industry experience preferred, but not required

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management or related field

EXPERIENCE: This is an entry level position; 1-2+ years of related professional experience in construction management required.

WORKSITE LOCATION: Hybrid role; domestic travel required up to 75% of the time

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday with occasional weekends

COMPENSATION: $75,000 - $85,000 DOE
