Project Manager – Utility-Scale Solar EPC

We are partnering with a leading IPP renewable energy company to hire a Project Manager for their utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) portfolio. This company is a national leader in the development, construction, and operation of large-scale clean energy projects, with a mission to deliver high-quality, impactful solar energy solutions to communities across the country.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the VP of Project Execution and support the full lifecycle of utility-scale solar and BESS projects—from late-stage development and financial close through construction and final commissioning. You’ll be instrumental in driving contractor performance across safety, quality, schedule, cost, and continuous improvement metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the transition of projects from development into execution and oversee EPC activities throughout construction.
  • Conduct constructability reviews, manage EPC contractor relationships, and ensure compliance with contract terms.
  • Track project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and cash flows; lead resolution of change orders and disputes when needed.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, finance, procurement, and legal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Organize and lead regular project status meetings, and provide clear, proactive reporting on progress, risks, and milestones.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of long-lead items and maintain alignment with EPC schedules and budgets.
  • Oversee site-level issues with landowners, utilities, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Contribute to project management process improvements and tool development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in project management for utility-scale solar or renewable energy construction, preferred IPP/Developer experience.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools (PMP coursework or equivalent a plus).
  • Strong understanding of the full solar project lifecycle, including permitting, interconnection, and commercial operations.
  • Experience managing third-party EPC contractors and tracking multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Salesforce, MS Project or similar scheduling software.
  • Ability to travel approximately 35% of the time.
