Job Details
Under general supervision, provides moderately complex preventive maintenance, testing, and repair service of computer hardware, primarily on stand-alone or networked PCs. Coordinates the installation, maintenance, and support required to maintain a variety of computer equipment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May perform any or all of the following :)
1. Consults with Manager or Lead to review the feasibility of systems requests from client departments.
2. Performs installations, preventive maintenance, testing, and repair of PCs and peripheral equipment at customer site.
3. Troubleshoots moderately complex problems with hardware and software.
4. Prepares and Responds to trouble tickets on issues such as equipment failure, repair, and documents issues related to each ticket analyzes equipment.
5. Resolves systems problems, including coordination between end users and hardware components of a local area network; trains and assists end users in assigned applications.
6. Assists in the evaluation of system configuration and software to ensure effective use of hardware resources.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent.
Completion of formal education in computer operations and repair.
Three (3) years of experience in computer operations including one (1) year of computer maintenance.
Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
Possession of a valid class C driver's license.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, and general characteristics of personal computers.
Knowledge of Desktop Operating Systems.
Knowledge of network servers and cabling standards.
Skill in the installation, configuration and repair of computers, system servers, networks (LAN/WAN), peripheral equipment and related software systems.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and orally, and to maintain harmonious internal and external working relationships.
Ability to be on call via cell phone or other department-defined method.
Ability to pass a medical physical.
Ability to pass a security check
Possess a valid Texas driver s license
Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
DESIRABLE
Experience in Microsoft network operating system.
Experience in Windows 7 operating systems.
MCP, MCSE or A+ certification.
EFFORT
Works in an office and/or airport terminal environment.
Uses keyboard devices and computer monitors.
Uses reasoning abilities in performing analysis and solving problems.
Frequently exerts forces equivalent to lifting minimally 50+ pounds Must be able to use ladders and scissor lifts as required from time to time
Communicates effectively by telephone, in writing and in person.
Uses near-visual acuity in reading written documents.
Drives to locations on Airport property.
