Sr Revenue Accountant - Candidates local to Massachusetts only
Job Responsibilities:
- Revenue Recognition and Monthly Close: Oversee and assist in month-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations and management reporting.
- Develop, maintain, and operationalize revenue accounting policies and processes.
- Oversight of over-time and point in time revenue recognition evaluation in accordance with Company policies and ASC 606. Document ASC 606 determinations for complex orders. Interface with Program Finance, Order Management, Contracts and Sales personnel in reviewing revenue contracts to ensure proper revenue determination in adherence to Mercury's policies and ASC 606. Perform review quarterly revenue related controls, including revenue sampling, testing of cost inputs and program fluctuation analysis. Support external auditors on annual financial audits and quarterly financial reviews. Identify and drive process improvement initiatives including automation and data analytics in creating efficiencies for our revenue processes and optimizing close timelines.
Financial Reporting:
Assist in review of prepared consolidated financial statements, footnote disclosures and documentation for SEC filings, including but not limited to 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, proxy statements and the annual report.
Review data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Gathers reference material concerning new and existing technical accounting literature to ensure compliance.
Assist in preparation of quarterly presentation to Audit Committee.
Required Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 4 years' experience in either public accounting or publicly traded companies.
Technical Accounting experience; including Revenue Recognition (ASC 606) US GAAP, SEC reporting and SOX Compliance.
Bachelor s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field. Strong written communication, including accounting memos, workpapers and verbal communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master s Degree or CPA preferred. Previous experience in manufacturing or aerospace/defense industry would be beneficial.
