Piper Health and Sciences is seeking a Research Associate II to support a well-known research organization specializing in infectious disease research in the Frederick, MD area. The Research Associate II will be responsible for performing TCID50 and plaque assays.

Responsibilities of the Research Associate II include:

Design, generate, and characterize recombinant proteins

Perform mammalian cell culture, transient transfections, protein expressions, protein purifications, and micro pipetting in a BSL2 laboratory setting

Perform ELISA assays and other cell-based assays

Collect, analyze, and summarize data using statistical software programs

Perform laboratory maintenance such as maintaining and calibrating equipment and ordering laboratory supplies

Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks

Create and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Qualifications of the Research Associate II include:

2+ years of experience working in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) or BSL-2 environment

Experience with TCID50, and plaque assays

Bachelor of Science in biological sciences and/or related field such as biology, chemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, etc.

Compensation for the Research Associate includes:

Salary: $50,000 - 65,000 annually, commensurate with experience
