Manufacturing Engineer
Title: | Machining Manufacturing Engineer Cast Iron |
Location: | Waterloo, IA USA 50703. |
Job Duration: | 12+ Months (Possible extension) |
Shift: 1st Shift (Start time between 6 am to 7 am, 8-hour workday)
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
Develop machining processes for new and existing parts
Create CNC machining programs using CAM Software
Support projects introducing new CNC equipment from planning through beginning production
Implement CNC processes for product development
Develop complex NC machining processes
Communicate and resolve issues with maintenance, production, and engineering teams
Troubleshoot daily issues for order fulfillment
Develop and improve new NC machining processes and perishable tooling
Innovate and enhance processes for cost reduction, quality, and safety
Test new processes and technologies by executing a detailed plan
Understand manufacturing tooling principles, tool design, and quality
Interpret GD&T, product models, and prints
Maintain archival and documentation resources for NC groups
Required Skills & Experience:
Proficiency with 3D CAD (Creo preferred) and CAM software (EdgeCAM, FeatureCAM, Creo/NC) or equivalent
Experience with offline simulation software (Vericut preferred)
Proficiency with tool data management software (TDM Systems preferred)
NC Programming proficiency
Machining centers expertise, particularly in cast iron machining
Strong understanding of tooling and tooling systems
Proficient computer and office software skills
Experience with in-process gauging
Multi-axis machining experience (Mazak machines)
Desired Skills & Experience:
Excellent communication skills
High attention to detail
Strong motivation and initiative
Background in Robotic/Automation
Education:
Bachelor s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent working experience
