We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer in Delray Beach, Florida. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our technology equipment and applications, designing and installing different types of networks, evaluating software, and ensuring the security of our network infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Oversee activities related to desktop and notebook computers and their network connections.
Manage and support various technology equipment and applications, including data backup, file and application servers, printer and print servers, VMWare hosts and virtual servers, storage area networks, and virtual desktops.
Design, set up, and install VPNs, switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless networks for city-wide, vendor, and police use.
Collaborate with IT staff in the design, layout, and installation of hardware and software for new networks and modifications to existing networks.
Run diagnostics, monitor systems and networks, and anticipate possible hardware problems and repairs.
Participate in resolving complex network problems and seek IT assistance when necessary.
Evaluate software, test new software, upgrade equipment, and provide training to users.
Maintain Configuration Management of all infrastructure equipment, including servers, storage, switches, connections, routers, and firewalls.
Responsible for Load Balancing of all infrastructure equipment.
Install communications equipment and associated software.
Manage and implement all Telecommunication needs, including Legacy phone systems, circuits, Unified Communications solutions, Voice over IP phone system, and SIP circuits.
Ensure the security of the network infrastructure, including user profiles, servers, PCs and laptops, switches, cables, and other connected peripherals.
Manage Mobile Device Management and Wireless Access.
Oversee Virtual Desktop and Server Infrastructure.
Ensure the Data backup and disaster recovery of all servers.
Monitor and maintain the network and network communications, resolving hardware/software issues on the network.
Adhere to ITIL and ITSM practices and remain current on technology and training pertaining to this position.
Participate in the team's on-call support rotation and mentor / cross-train team members on existing and new technologies.
Requirements
The role requires a minimum of 7 years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or in a similar field.
Proficiency in VMware is a must for this position.
Experience with Cisco Unified Computing System is highly desired.
The ideal candidate should have experience with Veeam Backup.
Familiarity with Fortinet Firewalls is essential.
The role requires expertise in Azure Active Directory.
Experience with NetApp is a significant advantage.
The candidate should have a solid understanding of Disaster Recovery procedures.
Proficiency in O 365 is required for this role.
The ideal candidate should have experience with Hyper-V.
Knowledge of Cisco Technologies is a must.
The candidate should have strong networking skills.
